Two portmanteaus, made from the same leather and pattern, but stitched with different thread colors. They may appear to be different sizes, but this is simply due to the camera angle.
These are hand-stitched using high-end 13-ounce bridle leather. The construction includes long runs of stitching as well as intricate box stitching at the ends, forming neat, tight, burnished seams.
The hardware is solid brass. The handles are rolled and corded, with doubled ends for reinforcement. Each measures 18” long, 5½” tall, and 6¼” deep.
Working with leather of this thickness has been extremely demanding on my hands, and these pieces represent a significant amount of labor. Every detail has been carefully considered, resulting in portmanteaus that are exceptionally sturdy and well suited to their purpose.
